The Gerhard Table
(77x52x45cm, birch plywood, drift plastic rings, colored resin, vintage metal ball casters)
Some people collect shells on the beach, i collect plastic colored rings.
Most of the time they are yellow or black, but they can also be white, green, or pink. But overtime i find one with a unique color, i put it aside in my treasure box of the rare ones.
It took me a while to find out that they were used to hold the rope of the octopus traps, and i still need to figure out if there is any color code for it.
I made this coffee table with my 150 favorite and rarest colored plastic rings, inspired by Gerhard Richter's color chart paintings.
